Once again, with this title they state something as fact that is PURELY an assumption.

Alright, it's my turn. I want a shot at it. How about this? - 'Being Rich Brings True Happiness' or 'Owning an Apple iPhone Automatically Makes You Cool' or 'Wearing Earrings Identifies You as Gay' or 'Tattoos Identify You as Part of a Motorcycle Gang'

Get the point? NONE OF THESE ARE FACTS!! But you can believe any if not all, only if YOU want to. The WTS thrives on stating as fact things that they can't prove. Gotta love it.

Conscious Class: Do you still go in field service?

i know there are some of the "conscious class" on the board (i.e.

yknot, miseryloveselders,elderelite,etc...) do you guys still go in the field ministry?

and if so, what do you focus on?

ME!!!

I still do go out in service. But instead of every Saturday, I've cut down to average about 2. I can say that I have cut back drastically because before this I was a regular pioneer and went out almost everyday and practically all day.

And I do the fake doorbell ring or the light knock. If I happen to come across someone at a door, I keep it VERY simple, like perhaps just presenting a tract. And I NEVER write down the persons info so I don't have any RV's.

What makes it hard is that even when I completely believed I still didn't care for the ministry. So it is more pain-staking now being out when I know it's nonsense. But it's all part of the plan folks. Question is, how long can I last?

this is a little bit of a rant but i need to vent.

so i apologize if some things aren't clear.

just ask and i will do my best to explain.. i'm really trying to be patient with my wife.

@ Billy the Ex-Bethelite - I completely agree. This is what I have been trying to do when I talk with my wife and exactly what I encourage my friend to do when he talks to his wife. No one likes to feel like they are being attacked. So when they can reach the right conclusion themselves rather than being forced, the results are often positive.

It's difficult once your own walls come down because you just want people to wake up, desperately. But patience truly is the best course. I can see a big difference in my wife as well as how our discussions turn out now. Thanks Billy the Ex-Bethelite.

Hey fellas, as you got older, into your early 30s, did you start finding women between their late 30s and late 40s attractive?

somedays my dad would look at what i still call an older woman, and he'd call her attractive.

i'd look at him like dude your nuts.

i'm thinking just cuz your older doesn't mean its wrong to find younger women attractive.

YES!! Actually since my early 20's I always found a woman around 40 or so super-attractive. There was something about maturity in life that really stood out for me.

And let's not even get into a woman with a sexy, mature voice. I'm very happily married. But if I wasn't, IT'D BE ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!! LOL

Now I'm in my early 30's and I stil feel the same way. Except I see some women even in their 50's that are absolutely beautiful and precious.

And they got a job, real hair, and real fingernails, and don't give a dang about what others say! Das what I'm talkin' about now! HOLLA!!

After watching those videos and hearing what many had to say, I hope it really causes impact.

Sebastian Ramos said in the second video that it is not a campaign against JW's or any other religion but rather a campaign to clarify so that others do not to fall victim to their practices.

One thing is for sure. They sure are getting a lot of exposure!

I have been observing how a friend of mine keeps trying to reason with his wife about the absurdness of some of the JW teachings and rules. She has begun to see it and even speak about it to him.

It seems like her walls are coming down. Once that happens, that strong defense sure does weaken quickly!

i got my own fair share of mental problems.

it goes without saying that a bunch of us on this forum are misfits and freaks.

@ TheLoveDoctor - I share many of your feelings. Especially those in regard to loving people. I have known many of these people for at least a third of my life. I can honestly say that I feel well liked by many, if not all, and that makes it difficult to just walk away. I don't care about any doctrine. But currently I am trying to be more serious at study and research since I have EXTREMELY LOW confidence in the WTS.

As far as pro-WT members here, it really is hard to define or find a normal one. In the spirit of the WTS, it is EVIDENT (LOL!!) that when you have to attack someone, i.e. spiritual smackdown, to defend your beliefs, that there is a cuckoo clock operating in the cranium. No need to continue discussing anything with such a closed mind.

My 2 cents.

my wife is bitter towards the organization right now and is finally willing to talk about flaws without her shutting down.

what is the easiest way to prove the witnesses don't have the "the single truth" of the bible?.

today i said to her, "you are probably worried about leaving because you think "what if they are right and armageddon comes.

This last weeks Watchtower study (maybe par. 10?) said that we are not capable of understanding or even applying what is in the Bible without the help of the FDS. I told my wife that I found that offensive. I told her I wasn't being haughty, but that statement was insulting to my intelligence. She actually agreed.

We had been talking about reinstating our FWN to answer some serious questions/doubt that I have. (But really to get her to think, as has been suggested on this site. It's working.) So last night we began to research who the FDS represents - just the governing body or the annointed as a whole? We couldn't really get a straight answer. (I already knew that and reminded her of a talk she had in the past that dealt with that subject and left her confused.) I then asked why something like that should have such a vague explanation.

In the WTLib, we looked under the annointed heading and then researched the subheading I think dealing with holy spirit. I believe 1997 was the last time something was written about this in the Watchtower. It was mentioned that the annointed do not have nor receive any extra holy spirit or understanding than the other sheep or great crowd would.

So I pointed out how this contradicted what was stated in the recent WT study, about our inability to comprehend the Bible without the help of the FDS. I asked her what she thought about that and if there was anything in the Bible that stated a distinction between who could understand the Bible, especially since Jesus spoke about how his father was so willing to grant holy spirit to those who asked for it.

She didn't say a whole lot but did not disagree. She had a look of disbelief on her face. I highlighted the fact that this info is DIRECTLY from the Watchtower publications. (She is somewhat liberal in her thinking so that definitely helps.)

My point in telling you this BoomTown is because studying with the Watchtower publications to break walls down is an excellent plan. It has been proven here before. But beware that it can still backfire on the absolutely blind and brainwashed mind. Give it a shot. Your wife's mind seems open right now. Prime opportunity. I wish you the best in success.
